Re-Accreditation of UG Engineering programs in Tier I/ Tier II Document

National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has decided that for all the UG Engineering programs of Educational Institutions which were provisionally accredited for 2 years in Tier I/Tier II and the Pre-visit qualifiers will be applied before submission of the Compliance Report. All such Institutions are informed that the following procedure will be followed in this regard:

  • The above Institutions are required to pay 10% of applicable Accreditation fee per program plus service tax @14.50% before submission of Pre-visit qualifiers. After payment of the fee, the Institution are required to submit information in the pre-visit qualifier Performa already available on the NBA’s website, with in a period of one month. If the pre-qualifier is not submitted within this period, the Institution will be given only one opportunity with a penalty of further 10% of applicable Accreditation fee per program to submit the pre-qualifier within a period of 2 months. In case an Institution does not submit pre-qualifier even after this extended period, then the compliance report of the concerned programs will not be considered and such programs will be treated as fresh cases for accreditation and the Institution will have to apply for these programs in a fresh application.
  • The pre-qualifiers as submitted by the Institutions will be examined in NBA and a decision will be taken regarding submission of Compliance Report by the Institution or otherwise.
  • In case of Compliance Report, the Institution will be requested to submit it with in a period of one month. If the Compliance Report is not submitted within this period, the Institution will be given only one opportunity with a penalty of further 10% of applicable Accreditation fee per program to submit the Compliance Report within a period of 2 months. In case an Institution does not submit Compliance Report even after this extended period, then the concerned programs will be treated as fresh cases and the Institution will have to apply for these programs in a fresh application.
  • The Compliance Report will be considered by the concerned Committee in NBA. If the Committee recommends a visit to the Institution, it will be requested to pay the balance 90% amount of the applicable fee plus the service tax @14.50%. The report of the visiting team will be considered by the concerned Committees in NBA for a final decision.
  • In case an Institution/program does not meet the pre-visit qualifiers, the Institution may apply for accreditation of the program(s) in a fresh application, when ready for the same.
  • Some institutions has already paid 100% accreditation fee. The same will be adjusted in 10% and balance 90% in case, Visit is recommended. If the Visit is not recommended, then the balance 90% will be refunded to the Institution.

A separate mail is also being sent to the concerned institution regarding the payment of 10% of applicable accreditation fee per program plus service tax @14.50% and submission of Pre-Qualifiers.
